It sounds tempting and so it looks in practice: a graduate of , "Tourism" is an expert of the future equipped with practical tools to use theoretical knowledge in real professional situations in the dynamically developing tourism industry. He is unlikely to get bogged down in piles of paperwork, nor will he yawn in his work, except perhaps from exhaustion, at a bonfire crowning a canoe trip somewhere in the Antipodes or accounting for an interestingly planned and conducted event. Knowledge of modern methods of tourism management and marketing makes him a leader capable of promoting and managing tourism brands, innovating to shape the modern image of balanced tourism. This is an adventure they will pay you for!

UNDERGRADUATE PROGRAMME OVERVIEW (BATCHELOR’S DEGREE)

The studies last 6 semesters in the daily, full-time mode - S (on site).

The graduate is characterized by extensive knowledge including history, geography, economics, management, psychology, marketing and recreation. He is fully prepared to take on challenges in sectors of the tourism industry from hospitality and catering to events and destination management, making him a valuable employee for any tourism organization. He is a true ambassador for the new era of tourism, ready for the challenges and changing needs of the global market. He has the skills to plan and execute tourism and recreation ventures, including preparing offers, conducting and operating tourism and recreation events for various audiences, establishing contacts and communicating in foreign languages.

The specifics of the studies require the graduate to master knowledge in several fields, including the humanities, natural sciences, economics and legal studies, as well as practical skills that enable professional activity in the tourism, recreation and HoReCa industries.

Among the core educational content are philosophy, history of architecture and art, psychology, law, economics, management.

  • Among the directional contents are such subject blocks as:
  • fundamentals of tourism and recreation,
  • tourist geography,
  • sightseeing,
  • cultural heritage
  • pilotage and guiding
  • guest services in hospitality and catering,
  • IT systems in tourism and recreation
  • marketing in tourism,
  • corporate finance,
  • modern management methods in tourism and hospitality
  • active tourism.

During their studies, students participate in numerous recreational activities (skiing, sailing, canoeing, mountain tourism) and field trips.

The study program includes internships in hotel facilities and travel agencies to the tune of 960 hrs.

Classes are taught by young, committed, open to students and willing to cooperate staff, including practitioners from the tourism and HoReCa industries.

CLASS LOCATION

Opole, Prószkowska St. 76 Opole (2nd Campus of Opole University of Technology) and outdoor activities (by the water, in the mountains, in the forests and parks). For the away classes, participation may involve payment (e.g. season tickets, equipment rental, travel and accommodation).
