APTITUDE
If you are interested in new technologies, enjoy mathematics, logical thinking and programming, and want to understand how systems work from the inside — Computer Science is the right study programme for you.
This is a degree programme for those who do not merely wish to use ready-made tools, but aspire to genuinely create, deploy and protect the technologies of the future.
The study programme is ideal for candidates who are curious about the world, ready for continuous learning and solving complex engineering problems. During the first two years, students acquire solid foundations in programming, networking, databases and operating systems. From the 5th semester, each student chooses one of two specialisations:
- Cybersecurity - for those who wish to protect systems, networks and data against attacks and intrusions. A specialist in this field is able to think like an attacker and defend like an expert.
- DevOps - cloud engineering and software deployment - for those who want to understand what the cloud is, how to manage it, and how to deploy applications so that they operate stably and efficiently.
RECOMMENDED SUBJECTS FOR THE SECONDARY SCHOOL LEAVING EXAMINATION (MATURA)
A modern foreign language and 2 subjects from the following: mathematics, computer science, physics (with astronomy), Polish language.
CAREER
Computer Science opens doors to some of the most sought-after professions in the IT market. Graduates of both specializations are currently employed by technology companies, start-ups, banks, public institutions and organizations from around the world.
Upon completion of the degree programme, you will be able to work as:
Cybersecurity specialisation:
- cybersecurity specialist - protects an organisation’s systems and networks against threats,
- penetration tester (pentester) - legally breaks into systems in order to identify their vulnerabilities,
- SOC analyst (Security Operations Center) - monitors systems and responds to security incidents,
- software security engineer - designs and verifies security measures at the application development stage,
- DFIR specialist (Digital Forensics & Incident Response) - conducts investigations following cyber incidents,
- Cloud Security Engineer,
- software engineer (Software Engineer / Solution Engineer),
- network and systems administrator, database administrator/developer, software tester / QA engineer.
DevOps - Cloud Engineering and Software Deployment specialization:
- DevOps engineer - combines programming with systems administration and is responsible for the entire software delivery process,
- Cloud Engineer - designs and manages infrastructure in AWS, Azure or Google Cloud,
- SRE engineer (Site Reliability Engineer) - ensures the reliability and performance of operating systems,
- AI Engineer - builds applications utilizing artificial intelligence and large language models (LLM),
- MLOps engineer - deploys and maintains machine learning models in production environments,
- software engineer (Software Engineer / Solution Engineer),
- network and systems administrator, database administrator/developer, software tester / QA engineer.
Many professionals work remotely, including for foreign companies. You may also develop your own projects or continue your education in a Master’s degree programme.
