The main objective of the BIP is to acquire knowledge and skills, as well as social competence in the broadly understood issues of the city economy and regional politics. The main objective of the course is to familiarize participants with current problems and challenges: social, environmental and economic, which are observed at the local and regional level. The specific objectives of the course are:
• to gain knowledge of theoretical issues related to the city economy and region politics,
• to develop competence and acquire skills in practical issues related to the functioning and the development of the city and region.
KNOWLEDGE: The course participant has advanced knowledge of local and regional economy of cities and regions’ functioning and development, with particular reference to changes in the socio-economic-legal environment.
SKILLS: The course participant is able to use theoretical knowledge to identify potential solutions to socio-economic and environmental problems in cities and regions, analyze them, and propose specific solutions to problems of cities and regions’ functioning and development.
SOCIAL COMPETENCIES: The course participant is able to identify and evaluate the local and regional phenomena that taking place in cities and regions. The course participant understands the necessity of independently and critically improve and develop the acquired knowledge and acquired skills, update the knowledge including the interdisciplinary and intercultural terms. The course participant is able to cooperate and work in a team, undertake task devoted to local and regional issues.
